Ronald M. Gipson
Ronald M. Gipson, a partner in the firm, has been practicing law since 1972. He was born in Mississippi, and moved to Galveston, Texas at a young age. He graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut in 1965, where he was co-captain of the football team under Coach Otto Graham and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, and after several years of service, returned to Texas, where he received his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin in 1971. At U.T., Ron was a member of Chancellors(top 1% academically), the Order of the Coif, and the Texas Law Review.
Since graduating from law school, Ron has worked extensively in the consumer and business areas of bankruptcy. He has practiced exclusively in the area of bankruptcy law since 1988 and is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He served as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for 14 years and represents both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 debtors in the Galveston and Houston area. Ron has been personally involved with several thousand bankruptcy cases, either as Trustee or as a debtor’s attorney over this period.
